The Outrageous Scott Brennan (Agony Uncles, Skithouse)
The Fabulous Adam Richard (Outland, Chelsea Lately)
The Punctual Toby Sullivan (likes bacon)
Together, they are Talking Poofy, presenters of The Poofcast.
Talking Poofy was born just before dawn on the streets of Adelaide in 2001. Scott, Toby and Adam were supporting Sue-Anne Post at the Adelaide Feast Festival, and their co-dependent hangover has been going for more than a decade now. For years they were an occasional part of the Melbourne stand-up comedy scene, and in 2010 they mounted (matron) their first ever late night festival show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, following it up with shows at the 2011 Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Tas Pride and Adelaide Feast.
The Poofcast was launched on July 7th 2010 and after some rather dicey scheduling issues early on, has settled into a weekly release every Monday at 6pm. The Poofcast features contributions from many talented individuals and celebrity guests, as well as tedious contributions from the main Talking Poofy members and frequent emergency poof, Wes Snelling (who has subbed for both Toby and Adam in live shows).
Scott is best known for his work on TV sketch shows Comedy Inc (Channel 9), and Skithouse (Channel 10). He is also an accomplished live performer. Scott is also a member of Spontaneous Broadway, where he has improvised musicals on several national tours. Their last Comedy Festival season at the Melbourne Arts Centre was a sell out success.
His other Comedy Festival shows include Lorraine's Hair and Face, The Lift, Mitzi and Hammond Wurlitzer's Triumphe de Force, the Barry Award nominated Life. Get it up ya, Glen Bush - Teenage Superstar, for which he was a Moosehead Award recipient, and Very Very Scary. At the Edinburgh Festival, Life. Get it up ya and Code Beige (performed with The HomeOwners) were met with critical acclaim and sell out success.
As a solo stand up, he has toured across Australia and on Stand Up Australia for The Comedy Channel. His other television credits include Neighbours, Judith Lucy's Spiritual Journey, Lowdown, Bogan Pride, Spicks and Specks, Rove Live, The Secret Life of Us, Blue Heelers, Stingers, Welcher and Welcher, Hit and Run and far too many commercials. He is also a voice over artist, whose dulcet tones can be heard on television and radio flogging everything from cars and supermarkets, to cricket and houses.
Scott is responsible for Talking Poofy characters Prue Lapse, Jesus, Constable Troy and many others (including the other Lorna). Scott also does audio production on Talking Poofy sketches and music.
A standup comedian since 1997, Adam has performed all over Australia, Britain and the USA. He began his gossip queen career as Triple J's Mister Bitch (2002/3) and has spent the last nine years as The Fabulous Adam Richard, part of Melbourne's Number 1 FM breakfast team, the Matt and Jo Show on 101.9 The Fox. Adam has appeared as a guest on such embarrassing ventures as Celebrity Dog School, Hole in the Wall, and The Footy Show. He has also appeared in more classy fare, like Can of Worms, Chelsea Lately, Rove and Spicks and Specks (where his impression of an Australian Idol audition remains the most viewed Spicks and Specks clip on YouTube). He is the co-writer and co-star of the ABC1 comedy series Outland, about a group of gay science fiction fans.
Adam is producer and editor of The Poofcast.
Toby is the deranged genius behind Poofcast characters Grunty MacFarkring and Lorna (the other Lorna is played by Scott).
